Konstantinos Kloudas from Snowflake Berlin will give a talk as part of the Advanced Data Systems course on December 2.
Snowflake’s journey from Batch to Streaming
Abstract: In this talk we will see how Snowflake evolved from a classic batch processor, where the whole input dataset is stored on disk waiting to be processed, to a stream processor where data can be processed as it comes. In addition, we will see how it did this without breaking the “single-product” principle where everything is exposed as classic Tables and users do not need to learn a new paradigm to leverage its new capabilities.
